Rebecca Cheung

Chair

I have been part of Carpe Harmonia since its first concert and I feel absolutely proud to have seen it grow through the years.  I have thoroughly enjoyed performing in various concerts over the years, particularly our most recent one- Dreams of Sleep, where it was our most challenging repertoire to date.

My aim as Chair (since March 2020) is to preserve the choir's eclectism,  support charities/freelancers and  community outreach.

Michael Spence

Musical Director

As the Musical Director for Carpe Harmonia my responsibilities cover everything from repertoire selection, designing show themes and planning for a season, to running rehearsals and ensuring our members develop as musicians. Carpe Harmonia has always been a passionate project for me ever since I formed the group in 2015 to bring singers together to explore diverse choral music in a supportive environment.

I achieved my BA (hons) in English Literature and Music at Brunel University before studying a Music PCGE at the Institute of Education (IOE) to become a secondary school Music teacher; I am now studying a Masters in Teaching at UCL/IOE. Additionally, I have qualified as a Kodály Method practitioner and continue to bring musicianship training to Carpe Harmonia as a result to ensure members are musically literate and confident in their musical abilities.

Alicia Newton

Marketing and Events Manager

I have been singing in choirs since I was 11, and after moving to London I tried a few choirs that didn't feel like the best fit. Then a friend invited me along to a Carpe Harmonia rehearsal, and I found a choir home. I love the eclectic repertoire and the many social activities. I was excited to step up as Marketing and Events officer, and bring Carpe Harmonia's music to an even larger audience.

Beccy Reese

Treasury Officer

I'm so thrilled to have found everything I wanted from a choir in Carpe Harmonia -  a welcoming choir for all adult singers wanting to engage with an eclectic range of challenging and fun repertoire. As membership officer I try to support all our members to get the most from the choir and am excited to welcome all new members into this exciting musical endeavour. By day I do stuff with numbers.
