We have joined together for a Carpe Harmonia take on this Christmas classic in aid of Samaritans Central London. You can change someone’s life story. Christmas can be a difficult time for people struggling with feelings of loneliness and isolation. Last year, volunteers at Central London Samaritans responded to around 7,809 calls for help during December including Christmas Day, and as the pandemic continues, Samaritans could see even more calls for help. It begins with you. It costs £5 to answer a call for help, and your donation could help volunteers be there for more people this Christmas time. "No Matter Where You Are"
Music and Lyrics composed by Lucy Gossip

'No Matter Where You Are' is a composition by our Assistant Musical Director, Lucy Gossip for choir and piano. It is inspired by the book 'Dear John' by Nicholas Sparks. This piece was created early on in the coronavirus lockdown. It was written partly as a reminder that we are all still connected; but more importantly, it enables the choir to put its voices together even during a time when we're forced to sing in isolation.
The lyrics are based around quotes from the novel:
'No matter where you are in the world, the moon is never bigger than your thumb.'
'It's a full moon here tonight, which makes me think of you. Because I know...no matter what I am doing, or where I am, this moon will always be the same size as yours, half a world away.'
