Love Theatre Day

I cannot imagine life without musical theatre. Having specialised in this genre during my training it is one that will always hold a dear place in my heart. The theatre is such a captivating place where you can travel to other lands and experience life through the eyes of others without moving an inch. It is a communal experience that cannot be described. Similar to films, the acting; props; costumes; set and choreography would mean nothing without music. The difference between the two? Musical theatre can continue to tell a story through a character’s own thoughts and feelings that are not always accessible. A visceral response to how they are experiencing life in that moment usually elicits a visceral response within oneself when watching. The world needs this powerful connection between the real world and an 'other' in order to BE more than it is. Anyone who has not been to a show should stop what they're doing a book some tickets; they're missing out on a truly enlightening experience.
